Labor Day Weekend 2010

We went to the mountains over Labor Day weekend to visit Andy's family. We decided to go up on Friday night instead of Saturday morning, and we paid for it in traffic! First time we had done that in years, but on Saturday morning we were glad we were already there! We got to spend lots of time with Mer, which was good because we don't get to see her often. Unfortunately, Ashley was out of town for a wedding so we didn't get to see her. We shopped in Boone a little bit and let Aidan get candy at the candy store. He kept calling Boone, "Boones" which was extremely cute. Boon is how "balloon" usually comes out, so I really think he was expecting a place full of balloons! Too cute! We went to Blowing Rock to buy him some new shoes for school. He had already picked out some that had lights on them which he thought were the coolest ever! He likes to stomp around just to make them light up. Had to pick up a pair of boots too (more for me than him....he is so dang cute in them!). We got to spend a good bit of time outside playing with the dogs and just letting Aidan run around. With the hot summer we had, this was exactly what we all needed! One night we went over to Ed and Nanette's and Aidan got to "play" with all of Uncle Ed's big toys. Aidan loves anything that is tractor/Cat related! He was in heaven and did not want to leave the toys to go inside! Imagine that! On Sunday night we built a fire and let Aidan roast marshmallows. He had a good time, but I think it was more about being outside than actually roasting marshmallows! He kept calling it camping! I guess one day soon we will have to go camping so he and I both will know what it is all about. We all had a good time and are looking forward to going for our Fall trip in October.
