First Day of School 2010

Aidan started preschool again the day after Labor Day. He is in the three year old class this year, and is still only going two days per week for 3 hours each day. When we registered in January, we didn't think he was ready for 3 days, but boy has he really changed since then! It is amazing how much they change in such a short amount of time. The first day this year was just so different than last. He is one year older, and again, this makes a huge difference. He was excited about going because we had talked about it all summer, and he enjoyed last year. I went into work late on his first day, so I could get him ready and take him in. He got up as happy as could be, and enjoyed a relaxing weekday morning at home. Normally we are rushing around trying to get out by 6:30! Not having to leave until after 8 was wonderful!!!!!! He even posed for pics before we left home! I was not sure what he would think about being in a new classroom with a new teacher, but he went right in like he had done it his whole life! He was a little hesitant when the teacher came out, but took right to it when she took his hand and was perfectly fine. I certainly handled this year much better than last! I was in tears last year, but this year it was much easier. School has definitely been the right thing for Aidan, and I hope it continues to be throughout his school years! A few pics from his first day.....

Later that afternoon we had to take Aidan to the doctor for his 3 year checkup. He is now 37.5" tall and weighs 33lbs. Getting taller and thinner everyday! Everything checked out well. We were pleased to hear that he is actually at the 4 year old level in his speech skills. When he was right around 2 we were concerned because he just wasn't talking at all. Everyone told us it would happen "overnight" and sure enough it did. He hasn't slowed down yet! All that worrying for nothing! He is right on track for everything else, so we are good to go! Only one shot on this visit, and he handled it pretty well. He always loves to get a sucker and sticker when he leaves!
