Harvest Festival 2010

We took Aidan to the local harvest festival again this year. He got much more out of it this year since he is older. I started telling him about it about a week before it started, and then once he saw it being set up, it was all he talked about. Literally!!!!!!!! Ever since he went to Tweetsie back in June and rode the rides, he has been all about ferris wheels and all things "fair" related. The day couldn't come fast enough for him. It started on Thursday but we weren't going until Saturday. He woke up on Saturday and was ready to go. Unfortunately, it was super hot that day and there was very little shade. He was thrilled when we got there and went straight for the rides. He was red-faced before he even made it off the ferris wheel. He rode several more things, and we walked around to check out the vendors. We all shared a funnel cake which was delicious!!!! Finally, Aidan had gotten to the point where he just wanted me to carry him around which made it that much hotter. :( We decided we had all had about as much as we could take, so we left. With Aidan fussing the whole way to the car. Then the tears came when he realized we were really leaving. Got Smithfield's :) on the way home, and we all took at long nap! Much needed for everyone. We all felt 100% better, so we took care of some errands, got supper, and then took Aidan back to ride again. He was super-excited, and since it was about 7:00, it had cooled down and we enjoyed it much more. We made it through another round of tickets, and headed back home. It took at least 2 weeks for us to convince Aidan the Harvest Festival was over. We drove by there every single day and he could see that it wasn't there, but that just wasn't good enough for him!!!! Even now (1 month later) if he gets upset about something, he will bring up the Harvest Festival! ?????? Now we are counting down to the fair!!!
