Aidan's Third Birthday!!!!!

Aidan celebrated his third birthday with two parties. Everyone always has a party at Nana's and of course, we were going to have one at home too! The day before his birthday was spent making his cake, getting his haircut and then going to Nana's to celebrate. He had a great day, and was so excited that it was all for his birthday! His party at Nana's had a Toy Story theme. He always calls Woody "Toy Story" which always cracks me up. Not sure why he won't just call him Woody! We had spaghetti for supper and then yellow cake with white frosting for dessert. He got lots of new toys and, as usual, we had to coax him to open the gifts. Just isn't his thing!

On Sunday morning (Aidan's real birthday), we kept the tradition of taking him to the diner for breakfast. He had "panpates" and bacon with orange juice. His favorite breakfast! I took the camera with me but then forgot to take it inside. I have become quite forgetful lately! :) Then we went to get his balloons and then home to cook lunch for his "party". We decided to give him one present early before anyone got there. He got a Thomas big wheel and helped Dada assemble it before lunch. Very cute riding it around the house! We had hotdogs and hamburgers, again, I think we have had that every year! He loves hotdogs so it makes it a much less stressful meal! He was a little distracted by having people over so he ended up not eating much anyway. He really liked his Thomas cake, and ate it like I have never seen him eat cake before! He knew everything was for him, and had a ball! After cake, we let him break his pinata (not necessarily in the traditional sense!) with the only stick we had.......the broom handle! He thought the whole concept was pretty cool. When it was time to open gifts we accidentally got them confused and ended up giving him what we knew would be his favorite gift, first. A remote control bulldozer. That meant he had no interest at all in opening any of the other gifts. We ended up opening them for him, and then throughout the rest of the day he would discover something he hadn't seen before. I think this actually worked out to be more exciting for him!
