Hillridge Farms
Two weekends ago we went to Hillridge Farms to let Aidan see the animals, get some pumpkins, and just see what it was all about. Aidan is all into anything related to a farm. We all really liked it, had a great time, and thought it was well worth the money. Aidan had a blast. It was so funny watching him transform. When we first got there and had to wait in line to get in, he was pretty antsy and just didn't want to have to wait...imagine that in a 2 year old. :) He was still a little edgy once we got inside, and just wanted freedom. Didn't want to do anything that he thought we might want him to do. Then we discovered the fort!!! Something that really appealed to him and where he could run all around and up and down the stairs. He did this at least 3-4 times (we were tired, so I know he was). This took the edge off, and he was relaxed and had the absolute best time! He has a fascination with goats and thinks anywhere there is a barn, there has to be goats, so we were glad he got to see some real goats. He fed the rabbits grass, went through the corn maze, went on the hay ride around the farm, and finally got to pick out his pumpkin. It was like a kid in a candy store when he saw all those pumpkins!!! We were a little disappointed that they don't grow pumpkins, they just have them brought in and place them on the grass in a huge area. But, I think this set up was actually better for the kids. After finally picking our pumpkins (I was more picky about my pumpkin than I am about my Christmas tree!!!), we rode the wagon back, loaded our pumpkins in the car, and took Aidan to the country store. He picked out a goat (of course), and a sheep for his barn as his souvenirs.
