2009 Fall Mountains Trip

Three weeks ago we took a couple of days off and had a long weekend in the mountains. We started this tradition in college, and have kept it pretty much every year. This year we were excited because Mack, Dorothy, Mark, and Martha were doing molasses. Unfortunately, we didn't really get to "participate" this year because the weather wasn't that great, and Aidan was pretty tired. We were able to go out both days for a little while, so we were glad we at least got to see everyone! Martha has lots of good pics on her blog.

On Thursday afternoon we took Aidan to feed the ducks. He had a ball after he recovered from getting nipped on the hand by one of them! I was pretty impressed that it didn't scare him so bad that he didn't want to do it anymore. He hung in there, and got some good throwing practice in. I say he is going to make a great baseball player....Dada says football. :) The weather was great that afternoon so we took him to the park when we ran out of bread. Aidan loves to go to the park because sliding and swinging are two of his favorite things to do. He was so excited when we got there and he figured out where we were!

We stumbled across a pizza restaurant several months back that we really wanted to try, and were excited because we were going to go that night for supper. Got over there, and they were closed. :( Pretty bummed about it especially since the sign out front said "Open for dinner tonight." :) We ended up getting pizza somewhere else and eating it in the car!

We also bought Aidan a toddler bed to have at Andy's mom's house, thinking maybe he would stop sleeping with us while we are up there (3 people in a full sized bed is pretty rough! Only 1 usually gets any sleep!). Didn't work out like we planned. We will be back up over Thanksgiving, so we will try again then! He doesn't mind sleeping in his bed at all when he is home, but when we are away from home, it isn't going to happen!!! I will admit that he is growing up so fast that I enjoy being able to snuggle up with him to go to sleep. Makes him not seem so big anymore! :)

Here are a few of the pics from the weekend.
