Christmas Tree Lighting

As long as no one is sick and the weather holds out, we always try to go to the tree lighting downtown. We were happy to get to make it this year and it finally felt like winter for once this season! Cold but not too cold to spend 45 minutes or so standing around outside! We got there around 6 (tree was supposed to be lit at 8:30) and were shocked at how many people were there. It certainly wasn't that crowded last year! We had planned to eat at one of our favorite places, but were afraid we wouldn't be able to get in when we saw all those people. Fortunately, we got right into the restaurant, had a wonderful supper and only had about 45 minutes before they actually lit the tree. Aidan was super-excited. We drive by the tree every day, and he counts down the days until they actually light it.
Trying to sit still long enough for me to take a picture!

We walked around for a few minutes and saw Santa coming on the horse-drawn carriage. Aidan immediately turned his head the other way, and Santa picked up on it. He started calling to Aidan trying his best to get him to turn around and look at him. Aidan would have no part of it at all! He wants all the toys on Christmas morning, but certainly doesn't want to have to actually talk to the guy!

Once we made it down to the town square, it was pretty close to Aidan's bed time and he was completely wired! He spent the entire wait crawling all over the ground, running around and just having a good time. I guess it worked out because I am sure this helped him stay warm!

Not cooperating for the camera. :)
Being silly with Dada!
Best view around
Aidan sees me taking pictures all the time, so he wanted to take some too.
His shot of the tree before it was lit:
He got most of dada in this one!
The lit tree:
He took one more after this one that was creepy to me! He was trying to take a picture of me, but it was angled more at a lady standing close by, and she smiled for the picture! Now I have a random picture of some lady we don't even know smiling at the camera! Weird!
