Christmas Parade and Lights

We have missed the Christmas parade the last couple of years because of bad weather, but were able to make it this year. Aidan liked seeing the firetrucks, but got upset when they started throwing out candy and he wasn't getting any. This coming from the kid with the "sour-puss" expression.....(see below). We explained to him, that if he were happy and acting like he was having a good time, they would throw candy to him too. It took him a while to believe us, but he finally tried it, and it actually worked! Yes, something mama and dada said was actually right! He doubts that quite a bit sometimes! 4 going on 14! :)
He really got into it when he saw a friend of his from school riding in the parade! I think that made it a little more "real" for him, and he was able to really enjoy it.
Aidan refusing to smile (the parade started at 3 so there was no time for a nap).

The sun was shining right in our faces but it did help keep us warm.
Nana, PopPop, Amy, Amber, Tyler and Jake met us there.
The grand finale, the big guy himself!
We always go see the Christmas lights at Meadow after the parade. Aidan always enjoys riding the carousel and the train. We got there right before dark and it was already extremely crowded, but we were still able to get our tickets pretty fast
On the train:
It is neat they have the trains because you get to ride all through the lights. You can see everything so much better and of course, Aidan loves any kind of train!
Another tradition is going to Cracker Barrel for supper afterwards. We had a long wait but it gave Aidan plenty of time to play with all the toys before eating. A very good night!
