Ashley's Graduation

Ashley graduated high school over Memorial Weekend, so we went to Asheville to spend the weekend with weekend with them. It was the first time we had been up to visit them at their house in several years, so we were excited! Aidan was hesitant about going because he wanted to stay at home and play with his toys!!! He was almost in tears on the way up because he thought he didn't want to go. He quickly changed his mind when he got there! Ashley's graduation was nice and Aidan was very well behaved thanks to the Ipod!!!! He watched his favorite TV show (Umizoomi) almost the whole time! The battery died right as they were getting ready to hand out the diplomas. At one time he realized he didn't have on his favorite shoes, and said in a normal volume voice "Where's my blue shoes mama?" Then when he saw Ashley on the stage he said again in a normal volume voice "Mama I need to go see Ashley pleeeeeease!" They had a reception afterwards which was also very nice, not something you would get at a public school!!!! Aidan loved the cake and punch, and the sugar in both of those is probably what enabled him to stay up until after 11!!!!! I couldn't believe he made it that long!

On Saturday we went out for breakfast and then to the nature center to let Aidan burn off some energy while he saw lots of animals. His new favorite animal is the otter which he very sweetly calls an "onner". He got to see the otter eat his lunch, and interact with the caretaker. On the way home on Sunday he again got teary saying he needed to go see the "onner" again pleeeeeease! (We will probably take him to see the otters at Grandfather this weekend.)

That night after supper we took Aidan to a park nearby to let him swing and slide. He loves freedom!!

Also, on the way home he kept saying he needed to go back to Ashy's house! What a change of opinion in 2 days! We really want to get back up there again soon. Maybe in the Fall or around Christmas and we can squeeze in a trip to Biltmore. :)
