I was not particularly prepared for this outing, so my camera battery died within about 5 minutes of being there. We did get a couple of pics, and since Leigh Anne was with us she was able to get some as well (that is until her camera battery died too!). Had a great time, and so glad Aidan enjoyed it so much. And to make the night even better, Andy took us to Cracker Barrel on the way home. That is definitely near the top of my list of favorite places to eat, but it isn't Andy's favorite so it was very sweet of him to take us!

Meadow Lights
The weather this December has been very "normal" for our area. Cold and wet, which means our outdoor activities have been very limited. We go to Meadow to see the lights every year and were afraid we wouldn't make it this year, but on the Sunday night before Christmas we headed out there. Our timing was perfect because we got there right before dark, and were able to get our train tickets before it got crowded. Aidan got to ride the carousel first, which he absolutely loves. I was telling him about the train, and he was interested but not overly excited. When it came out of the "station" and he saw it, his entire face lit up!!! He was so happy! We got on, and he sat there so patiently waiting for it to start moving. He loves anything to do with trains, especially Thomas. (Percy is his favorite.) We rode around the field and Aidan was able to see all of the lights. I think it really is like a "wonderland" for kids, getting to ride the train through all of the lights. After the train ride we asked if he wanted to see Santa, and of course, the answer was an emphatic "NO!" We took him in the candy store, and yes, it was just like a kid in a candy store. There are so many baskets of candy, every kind you can imagine, and they all look cool to a little boy. He wanted anything that looked particularly interesting! Ended up with a box of candy canes, a bag of assorted "orange" slices, and a bag of suckers. He is really enjoying the suckers, and will even give me the stick when he is done. Me being paranoid as I am was afraid he would try to eat them too!
