Aidan has always been a very healthy little boy even when he was a baby. He has never been sick (allergies here and there, but nothing to be treated for) until we got back from Thanksgiving. He and I both had a "cold" for about a week before Thanksgiving, then his turned into a bad cough so I took him to the doctor on the Monday after Thanksgiving. No fever, and he wasn't acting like he felt bad, but I wanted to make sure his lungs were clear. Ended up being a sinus infection (which didn't surprise me), so we started him on antibiotics on Tuesday. He started running a slight fever that afternoon which I thought was odd, but didn't put too much thought into it. Then he was up most of the night on Tuesday night not feeling good with the fever, and slept with us. I stayed home with him on Wednesday, and treated his fever but rather than going away it got worse. Once his fever hit 103+ I got pretty worried because I have never dealt with this before. Called the doctor again (Aidan has the best group of doctors and nurses!), and they wanted to see him. Went in and he still had the sinus infection, but now a double ear infection on top of it. Poor baby was miserable! Started him on a different antibiotic that night, and he was a million times better the next day. Thank goodness! I was some kinda worried about my little baby! Had the follow-up visit this afternoon, and his ears are all clear!
Now the dilemma has become get the H1N1 vaccine or not??? Aidan got his seasonal flu shot back in September, but they talked to me about the pig flu today. No pressure, but they certainly wanted to make sure I understood everything and could make an informed decision. I guess we will decide in the next day or two, and move on.
