Andy's Birthday/Thanksgiving

We had a great long Thanksgiving weekend. We are thankful anytime we are able to spend a lot of time together as a family. Andy's birthday fell on Thanksgiving this year, so we celebrated a little early. We got together at Mama's on Monday night and opened gifts at home on Wednesday night. Aidan was pretty good at helping unwrap some of the gifts! Here are some pics from Mama's:

We spent Thanksgiving and the long weekend at Andy's mom and dad's house. Aidan had a good time exploring a new set of kitchen cabinets!! These were some of the better ones from the day:







Friday we went "shopping." We didn't really buy anything, so it was more like "looking." We went to very few places, and were not there looking for the great deals like most others. We just wanted to go out and enjoy the day, but avoid the crowds at the same time. We ate Mexican for lunch. Aidan LOVES refried beans!!! He likes them at the restaurant and out of the can at home! Later in the day we got in a good nap (I love taking naps with Aidan! A weekend must!).

Saturday we went to pick out our tree, and Aidan was able to go this year. Last year it was too cold for him since he was so young. He seemed to enjoy it this year, if for no other reason than he likes to be outside and with me and Andy! Here we are picking out the tree. We finished up just in time because as Andy was tying them in the truck it started misting rain. We stopped and ate lunch on the way back to Andy's parents and got in just in time to get in a nap!! (See a trend here??? ;))

Later that night we drove to Bristol to see the Christmas lights at the race track. We had perfect timing and got there just as they opened the gates, so we didn't have to wait too long. This was a good thing for Aidan because he doesn't understand the concept of just driving around slowly in the car with, in his opinion, no purpose! He played with his new "steering wheel" toy Andy bought him, ate Goldfish and Teddy Grahams, and survived the experience! He was really happy when it was over and he was able to eat dinner!

The lights were beautiful and well worth the drive and money. It took about an hour to see everything, and we were able to drive on the track on the way out. Here are a few of the pics we were able to get from inside the car:
