Aidan was a little fisherman (just like his Dada) for Halloween. Here he is getting dressed to go out:
We only took him to two places to Trick or Treat. Mama's and Ms. Linda's. Here are a couple at Ms. Linda's house. He wasn't really in the "visiting" mood, but he had a good time. He was more in the mood to explore his new surroundings! (in other words, get into everything!!)Andy wanted Aidan to have some Cowboys gear for football season, so he got him this windsuit for his birthday. It was cool on this day, so Aidan got to show it off. I think he is proud of it!
We are still in the process of trying to child proof the house. We want Aidan to be able to explore and learn, but protect him at the same time. Here are a few pictures of Aidan helping Dada put the gate at the bottom of the stairs (he loves climbing the stairs!!).
After a hard mornings work and after eating lunch, I let Aidan have a Halloween cupcake for dessert. He enjoyed it, but he isn't really big on that sort of thing.
This is him offering some to Dada before throwing it on the floor and "saying" I'm done!
Then we went to the park down the road to let Aidan swing. That is one of his favorite things to do!
He also enjoyed playing in the wood chips! I am sure he would have eaten them if we had let him!!
There is a little country church near our house, that I have always thought was really pretty. It is old and in the country, and the trees around it usually turn really pretty in the Fall. We were a little early on our picture taking this year, but here are a couple that turned out good.
The last adventure on this day was playing in the back yard. Nana and PopPop gave Aidan a car for his birthday. We hadn't put it together because we were waiting for him to get a little bigger and more steady on his feet. We let him try it out, and he LOVED it! This is him getting in it for the first time in the garage.
Watching Dada on the lawn mower:
Still watching Dada on the lawn mower and probably wondering why his ride doesn't sound like that!
Getting help from Dada:
Toot toot!!
After playing in his car for a while, Andy let Aidan ride around on the lawn mower with him (very slowly, and without the blade going!! :) )
One of Aidan's favorite breakfast foods is Rice Krispies (he is really easy to please!). I have started pulling his chair closer to the table to make sure he feels like he is right there with me and Andy and is doing the same thing we are. I did this yesterday, and was cleaning up after eating, but apparently left his bowl of cereal too close to the edge. You can imagine what happened next!
He really didn't make that big of a mess. He poured the milk on his tray, but then was using the spoon to eat more cereal. Rice Kripies are a little difficult to clean up when they have gotten wet and are stuck to everything!!!! He was proud of himself and felt like a big boy, so I was happy!
Okay, last one. On the weekends we like to try to sleep late (for us that means 7ish), and it is a treat. When Aidan wakes up we bring him to our room and all "wake up" together. We let him crawl around on the bed, kick us, punch us, pinch our noses, pull our hair..... We love it and so does Aidan! This morning we wanted to go to the diner for breakfast, so I went to get ready while Andy and Aidan were still "waking up." I knew it got really quiet, and when I walked back in the bedroom this is what I saw:
Aidan was out like a light! He probably got in another 20-30 minutes of sleep! We were still able to go to the diner, and Aidan enjoyed his pancakes and bacon!
We are going to the mountains for Thanksgiving and are bringing back our Christmas tree. Hopefully, I will be able to get some good pictures for the next post.
