The weekend before our anniversary, Andy and I went to Wilmington and let Aidan spend the night with Nana and PopPop. This was his first "real" overnight trip without us. He spent one night away last year when Andy had his surgery, but we don't really count that because it wasn't fun for anyone! We had a good day talking and missing Aidan! He, of course, had a ball! On Sunday we wanted to do something special with him, so we took him to the Got to be NC Festival. We went early, but it was still really hot! He loves riding rides, so we got him the armband so he could ride as many times as he wanted. He loved it! They had a petting zoo, so we bought a little bag of carrots and let him feed the goats. He went for a time when he was younger that he was all about goats, so feeding them was a really big deal to him. They had a camel there, but he was very smart and could tell who was going to feed him and who wasn't. If he didn't suspect you had any food or didn't look interested in him, he quickly moved on down the line, so Aidan didn't get to pet him. We only stuck around a couple hours since it was so hot, but it was enough time for Aidan to do what he wanted. He looked so big riding all the kiddie rides! He is growing up way too fast!
He always has a serious face when he knows you want him to smile!
The helicopters were probably his favorite ride. He rode with a little girl who acted like a big sister to him! I think she made it more exciting for him.

Feeding the goats
The merry go round that we thought would never end! The operators changed midway through the ride, and apparently the guy who took over didn't know how long we had already been on there. Even Aidan said "I wish they would stop this thing!"
Think he did the slide at least 3 times!!!
