Christmas Snow

Everyone was saying we might get snow on Christmas. This was very exciting to Aidan since he didn't think it was possible to have Christmas without it! We watched right up until we went to bed, and nothing. Not a single flake! A little disappointed and wasn't really sure if we were going to get anything or not. Woke up on Sunday to a winter wonderland! And it was still snowing! Ended up snowing all day on Sunday and we got about 12 inches! This was the best to Aidan! We went out around lunch time when the power came back on. Only off about an hour, but we were afraid to go out and get too cold in case it didn't come back on, so we waited. First thing Aidan did when he got in the back yard, was lay flat down in it and started making a snow angel! It was the cutest thing. We have come a long way since last year and the year before's snows. He didn't mind it, but didn't really care for it. Now, he is rolling around in it and having a ball! We all had a snowball fight, wrestled in it and let the dogs run around too. Aidan had a hard time walking around because it was so deep so we ended up making paths all around the yard so he could walk. His little creative mind kicked in, and he would discuss which path he needed to take, etc. Very cute! He and Dada made a small snowman, but I didn't get a pic of the final product. Used charcoal for eyes, and gave him sticks for arms. We had planned to go to the mountains to visit Andy's mom and dad on Monday, so we headed out that evening just to scope out the roads. The crews had done a fantastic job and everything was pretty clear. We ended up trying to find something to eat, and not a single fast food place was open (probably best for us!), but our favorite mexican place was. We went out for mexican with a foot of snow on the ground! There were quite a few people there, and we had a good time.
