We spent Easter weekend in the mountains with Andy's family. This was the first time we had been able to go up since Thanksgiving, so we celebrated Christmas and Easter on the same weekend. Aidan was happy to be back up there, and handled the ride very well. He has always been good in the car, but now he is so interested in seeing everything around him that I think he handles it even better. We left work early on Thursday just so we could get up there a little earlier, and give Aidan a chance to unwind before he was completely out of his routine. He was excited about opening gifts, but as usual, he was more concerned with making sure everyone else had a present. He is such a sweet boy!

On Friday we went to Boone to do a little shopping, ate Mexican for lunch (Aidan calls it eating chips and sauce!), took Aidan to the park, and then stopped by McDonald's for a milkshake. It was actually almost uncomfortably warm while we were at the park. We weren't really sure how the weather would be, but it ended up being pretty nice. Aidan got to pick out some candy at Mast General which he happily ate before lunch!!! Then he ate a cheese quesadilla with chips and salsa for lunch. He loves to go eat Mexican food. We bought a restaurant coupon book, and when we first got it we happened to be going to eat Mexican so Aidan heard all the conversations about it, and now everytime he looks at the book he tries to find a coupon for chips and sauce. Very cute! After lunch we went to the park and he was able to burn off all his extra energy. He loved sliding, swinging, and throwing rocks in the creek with Dada. We were all overheating, so we talked Aidan into leaving by promising him a milkshake. Of course when we get to McDonald's he has to have the whole meal AND the milkshake! He loves "Donald's chicken"! Later that night we went out to eat with Andy's mom and dad, and just hung out around the house.

On Saturday Andy got up early to go fishing, and Aidan and I slept in. Aidan got to color eggs again, and made some Easter cookies. We got restless in the house so we went outside to draw pictures on the sidewalk for Dada. When Dada got home we had an Easter egg hunt, and played with the dogs. Aidan loves being outside! Ed and Nanette came over for supper so we got to spend a little bit of time talking to them. Andy had a successful fishing trip, so that's what we all ate for supper. So glad Aidan enjoys fish as much as he does! We had hoped to take him fishing this afternoon (with his new fishing pole), but none of us were really in the mood and we weren't sure Aidan would enjoy it since he was already tired. After supper we went to see Mark and Martha, and Aidan got to play with Creston and Mackie. As soon as we pulled into the driveway and Aidan realized where we were, his whole face lit up! Wish I could have gotten a picture of that!!! Mackie wasn't so sure about us, so he sat on the porch with his Nana! Aidan and Creston found some of the eggs and just enjoyed running around. Aidan quickly remembered where the tricycle was, and wasn't shy about asking to play with it either! So glad he had such a good time, and was comfortable! Creston and Mackie got new bunk beds, and Creston was so proud he had to show Aidan. Aidan took right to them, and was happily climbing up and down the ladder just like them! Uugh!!! I am so overprotective!!!! :) I didn't know he even knew how to climb a ladder!!! He had such a good time, and loves playing with them. One day last week we took a walk around the neighborhood, and Aidan pointed to a house and asked if it was Creston's house!!!!! I think he misses him!

Sunday morning Aidan was excited to see that the Easter Bunny had come to see him! His face lit up as soon as he saw his basket! We stuck around for lunch, and then headed back. Pretty easy ride, but we were certainly shocked when we got home and saw all the pollen! We had no idea it would be that way! Lasted about a week, but finally got back down to a reasonable amount.
