Now that Aidan has gotten older, he loves helping do things around the house, and I really enjoy doing "seasonal" things with him at all the holidays, etc. He had a Valentine's party at school on Wednesday, so we spent a couple nights doing things for it. He put treat bags together for everyone in his class, and then made brownies on a stick. The brownies did not turn out, but we had a good time making them together! We were able to work on counting while doing both (count the candy, count the eggs, etc). He had pancakes at his party, and got a small treat from everyone. We had a bowl full of candy when he got home that night!!! It is worse than Halloween! Andy and I do not "do" Valentine's day, but we did get a few small things for Aidan. He loves Veggie Tales so we bought him a new movie, gave him some M&M's, and a cow that "poops" candy. Aidan thought that was hilarious! Now he just wants the candy! You will probably notice in one of the pics that the potty is in the living room! We have officially started potty training, and letting him sit on it while watching TV seems like a good way to start. :) I told him this morning that if would use the potty he would get a big prize. After about 15 minutes (and a false alarm), he came running in the kitchen saying "prize, prize!" I ran very excitedly to the potty, and he had gone. True it was literally about 2 drops, but he went!!! :) I didn't expect it, and wasn't completely prepared with the big prize I had promised, but he was happy with M&M's! He is completely refusing to wear his pull ups (we call them Diego Pants), which surprised me. I thought he would like them because he could put them on by himself. Hopefully, he will learn to like them eventually! The goal is to have him completely potty trained by his birthday, so we have about 6 months!
Treats for the goody bags
Putting it all together. He had a much better time than his facial expressions imply!

Napping on the job?

On the second night of doing the goody bags Aidan decided he was no longer interested, and much preferred to eat ice cream with Dada. I finally broke down and bought "real" ice cream. Up to this point, we called Cool Whip (light of course) ice cream and Aidan didn't know the difference and didn't care!

Ready for the party

Making brownies. Yes they are out of a box. :) Since one of Aidan's classmates has a peanut allergy, it is easier to read the ingredients list on one box compared to reading the ingredients list for everything required of homemade treats. And, who has time for homemade on a weeknight? :)

What's next?

"Whole" egg anyone?

Time for the mixer. Notice the excitement on Aidan's face

Short-lived!

Stirring it up (The old fashioned way still works!)

One happy little boy, and yes, he is dripping brownie batter all over the front of the cabinets! We LOVE Mr. Clean!

Time for sprinkles...Aidan's favorite part.

These next pics were taken on Valentine's morning. Aidan is so relaxed just hanging out in his PJs.
