Mer and Ashley

We were excited when we found out Mer and Ashley were going to come for a visit. It was a pleasant surprise considering how terrible the weather has been this winter. Ashley wanted to visit with a friend she doesn't see often, so they came down for the weekend. Aidan was a little hesitant at first with having Max in his house, but he adjusted very quickly and had a wonderful time. He and his Aunt Mer bonded, and he was as loving towards her as he is to anyone he sees everyday. Hopefully, we will get to see them again over Easter. Because of the weather, we have not yet been to Andy's parents house for Christmas, so we did part of the gift exchange this weekend. Aidan loved his new fishing game and basketball goal!!! Didn't get very many pics at all unfortunately.

This same weekend Aidan went to his first birthday party for a non-family member. It was at a place with inflatables that you jump on/in. Aidan was not impressed and was not interested at all. I was a little upset about it because he wouldn't do what the other kids were doing, but he had a great time examining the drink and gumball machines. He is more interested in how things work than anything else!!! Possibly a high paying job in his future? :) Since he wasn't really into the whole "birthday" thing, we only stayed an hour and then went to Captain Stanley's for supper. Aidan had never really eaten a lot of real fish before (he loves the frozen tenders!), but he loved it. He ate a whole piece of flounder minus two bites. I was thrilled that he was actually open to something new considering he is typically a Mac N Cheese, Chicken Nuggets, Hushpuppies, and Pancake eater!

On Sunday the weather was beautiful and we all got to spend some time outside. This is Aidan's favorite thing to do. He doesn't care what he is doing as long as he can be outside! Andy and I are the same way, so it works out great! We also tried out our new ice cream maker before starting the diet on Monday. :( Vanilla ice cream with oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and brownies!!!
