18 Months

My sweet little baby turned 18 months old on Sunday! It is really hard to believe how fast the time has gone, but then at the same time, it seems like Aidan has always been a part of our lives. We can't remember what life was like before having him, and we don't want to! We get so much joy out of being able to spend time with him. We are thrilled when he learns something new, or when he gets excited about something. It is a great feeling to watch someone learn about everything around them. Seeing, touching, and hearing things for the very first time.

Aidan had his 18 month well visit this afternoon, and all went well. Fortunately, he was up to date on all of his shots, so he didn't have to get any!!! Of course, he didn't know this so he broke down as soon as we walked into the room. The doctor told us that the 18 month visit is always the worst, and the 2 year visit will not be great, but not as bad as this one. After 2 years, they get better. We will see how true that is!

He weighs 26 lbs and 14 oz and is 32.5" tall. His weight gain has slowed down tremendously since he turned 1. All the running around burns a lot of calories! He is still in the 90th percentile on his head. Just means he has lots of brains and is really really smart! The doctor even said so, :). He has dropped to the 70th percentile on weight. Keep in mind he was in the 97th when he was 2 months old!!!!!

We always go to Walmart after the doctor visits and buy something new. Today he got a t-ball set that he loves! I wasn't sure if he would really know how to use it, but I showed him a couple of times and then he knew exactly what to do! We have a future major league baseball star on our hands!!! :) I wasn't able to get a really good video because it is hard to video while playing ball! When Andy came inside to play with us (yes, we were playing ball in the house!), Aidan decided it was easier just to hit the ball with his hand rather than with the bat. We will keep trying for a good video!

I was able to get a decent video of Aidan naming his body parts. He has learned them really quickly over the last several months, and is always so proud of himself when we ask him where everything is! I did have some competition on this one though. Kai-lan was on Noggin, and he was preoccupied with her!
