The weekend after New Year's, we went to the mountains to have "Christmas" with Andy's mom and dad and to celebrate his mom's birthday. Aidan always enjoys going up there, so he was excited!
Opening gifts
Aidan helped me make a birthday cake before going up, so he was happy to have a birthday party for granny. We ate cake and took her out to eat at a Japanese place. Aidan loves going to places like that so he can have soup and eat his food with chopsticks!
I have to tell the funny story about the water boy because 10 years from now I will probably never remember. When we walked into the restaurant, they had some little boy plastic toys set up out front. They were at eye level for Aidan so they immediately caught his eye. He was asking about them so I told him we would check them out before leaving. When we sat down, he noticed all the chefs had them on their carts, ours included. After they finished cooking, we asked them what the little boy figure was for. He picked it up and squirted Aidan with water. Okay, cute, a water toy. When we got up front, Aidan wanted one, so Andy checked the price and got him one. They told us to be careful with pulling his pants down because it could break the mechanism that squirts the water. WHAT? Didn't think too much about it until we were walking to the car and Andy explained to me "how" the boy squirts water! I was mortified and couldn't believe we had just spent $8 on a boy that pees on you!!!!! Everyone thought this was hilarious because apparently everyone else had seen where the water came from when the chef squirted Aidan. I couldn't see it from where I was at!!! Andy laughed and said he was wondering why I was okay with buying one. WOW! No more toys from the japanese place!
