July 4th Weekend

We spent July 4th weekend in the mountains with Andy's mom and dad. We went on Friday so we could get up early on Saturday and take Aidan to Tweetsie. Had to talk to him several times on the way letting him know that Thomas was not going to be there. He wasn't upset which was a relief. We only stayed a few hours but it was long enough for Aidan to see and do what he wanted, and long enough to get worn completely out!

Aidan's stinky face. Isn't as effective in a picture as it is in person. Anytime he smells something that stinks he makes this face. He knows I love it so now he does it just to make me smile!

Amazing how big he looks on this helicopter ride. I just can't believe how he is growing.

Watching the show. At this point there was a lot of shooting going on. I was starting to get worried what this expression meant and was afraid Aidan was going to get upset about it. The shooting stopped, and Aidan said "Mama, I want them to shoot some more!!!" Yes, 100% all boy!! We had to go to the gift shop afterwards to get him his own cap gun. He carried it around all weekend and even wanted to sleep with it. It has worn off quite a bit now, but he still likes playing with it.

Aidan enjoyed making a birthday cake for Grandpa and helping him blow out the candles. He is willing to handle that part for anyone! The lighting was bad, so I didn't get any good pics!

We missed the fireworks near our house, so we went somewhere else on Monday night. The storm clouds were really rolling in, so they started them early. Worked out perfectly! Done a little after 8 and still able to get Aidan home and in bed at a reasonable hour!
