Early in the month Andy and Rick went to the beach for the day to fish. Aidan and I didn't go because I knew it would be impossible to keep him entertained that long. He was curious about the fish when they first got home, and wanted to touch them, but after getting stuck by one of the fins, he had enough! He is always very interested in what you are doing, and usually isn't afraid of anything (unless it is eating something new!). He may be hesitant at first, but he isn't scared. We cooked some of them for dinner that night, but Aidan didn't try any. I don't remember what they were, but they were not my favorite!
Aidan still loves to wear his engineer's hat from Halloween, so I bought another one for Andy to wear when they played trains together. It doesn't fit at all, but they are cute with their matching hats playing with Thomas. Aidan loves anything related to Thomas/trains or farms! He likes for Andy to set the tracks up, and will play for a good while, but then he has just as much fun taking them apart! He calls Thomas "TomTom." Very cute, especially when he is copying everything they say in the movie word for word until they say "Thomas." At that point, he just replaces it with TomTom!
I signed up to help with the Thanksgiving party for Aidan's class. We made Turkey cookies, and Aidan had a ball. He helped cut them out, and then he got to frost some too. His favorite part was probably eating them! Unfortunately, Aidan did not enjoy the party very much. I was excited and took the day off so I could go and see how Aidan interacts at school. He didn't know I was there, so it was neat to be able to watch him play and sit at the table while Mrs. Heather read a book. He was doing everything that all of the other kids were doing. Including wearing his Indian "hat." (He would never have done that for me!). Once he knew I was there, it was all over! Clingy, clingy, clingy!!! All he wanted to do, was have me carry him around, and the indian hat came off immediately!!!! This actually makes me really sad because I think the biggest reason he is so clingy to me is because he doesn't get to see me that much during the week. I have decided I will not be attending anymore things at school until this wears off. I don't want him to miss out on having fun with his friends because I am there. I say this very reluctantly! All the kids sang a turkey song that was very cute, and ended with them "clacking" their tongues. Now Aidan will walk around the house talking about the turkey and "clacking" his tongue!!! If I had not been there, I would have seen him do this on video, but since I was there, he wouldn't even participate!!! I know one day I will wish he would cling to me!
Finally, we started our Christmas decorating the weekend before Thanksgiving just to make sure we got everything done. We put up two trees. A fake one in the dining room so you can see the lights from the road (it is filled with all of my Hallmark ornaments), and a real one in the living room (that is outdoor themed). Leigh Anne came over to assemble the fake tree. I do not "do" fake trees, so it is a pretty big deal for me to have one in the first place, and I really can't make a fake tree look real. Leigh Anne is a pro! We got it decorated, and most everything else, and so far Aidan has done good about not touching. But, we haven't turned the lights on yet!!!

We got home from visiting Andy's mom and dad this afternoon, and were able to get our real tree put up as well. Pics from the weekend and Andy's birthday coming soon.

I just wrote you this long comment... and then Sarah crawled over to my laptop and somehow deleted it!!! Arrrhh!
I am just going to send you an email and share my opinion about Aidan being clingy. Emily is very clingy and I am with her all day long, so I think it is just an age thing. I'll email you.
