July 4th Weekend

We spent the July 4th weekend in the mountains with Andy's mom and dad. There was quite a temperature difference between here and there, and we were unprepared! Worked out okay because it warmed up on Saturday, but Friday was a little chilly! You will notice the difference in how Mackie was dressed compared to Aidan!! Friday night we went over to Mark and Martha's so the boys could play together. Aidan had a great time! All kinds of toys that he isn't used to seeing! Something different is always exciting! We did some fireworks when it got dark, and Aidan didn't take to them very well! He had not had a nap all day, it was dark outside (and he wasn't used to being outside after dark), and it was past his bedtime. All of that combined with the noise terrified him. I had never seen him that scared before. He fell asleep in the truck on the way home before we even got to the end of the road! I got some cute pics of Aidan and Mackie playing together, but unfortunately, didn't get any good ones of Creston. My battery died very early in the night. I borrowed a few pics from Martha, and you can see more of hers on their blog.

The following Tuesday was Andy's dad's 86th birthday so we took him out for supper on Saturday night. Mer and Ashley met us at the restaurant, so it was nice to get to see them some too! The waitress messed up the "free birthday dessert" order, so we got two. Aidan had started to get a little restless because it was taking a really long time for everything, but he settled right down when the ice cream and brownies came out!
